Every year Diwali has been about getting together with friends & family, food, sweets, decorations, new clothes & the list could probably go on.
This is the first year I am more vested in what Diwali symbolizes – triumph of good over evil, light over darkness.
This year many of us would be celebrating Diwali in a more intimate fashion. I have put together two table centerpieces for a simple lunch or dinner at home.
The table has a linen tablecloth & my brocade dupatta for some color & bling. This year the décor is all about handmade beeswax candles in terracotta kulhads and the handmade umbrellas I made last year for my friend’s baby shower looks perfect here! Marigold flowers in a brass uruli for their undeniable festive vibe.
The second setting is similar except for the uruli. Instead I have a small brass lamp, a conch with some marigold flowers in them on a brass thali.
It’s been a difficult & trying year for many. Let’s all light a diya in the true spirit of Diwali!
Looks simple and elegant!
